Biography
The Bear Inn in Wiveliscombe, Somerset has been owned and managed by Andy and Heather Harvey for 12 years. The Bear is a 17th Century coaching inn that reflects Wiveliscombe’s heritage. It was voted Somerset CAMRA Pub of the year in 2007 and was a finalist in 2010. The Bear is a traditional English pub where darts and skittles are still played. The atmosphere is friendly and convivial where young and old and family mix.
Dogs on leads are welcome in the pub and outside patio areas.
We serve many different real ales throughout the year to compliment our food specials menu, which changes regularly to reflect the changing seasons.
The Bear Inn is ideally placed for exploring Exmoor, the Quantocks and the beautiful surrounding Somerset/Devon countryside. There is fishing at the two local reservoirs, Clatworthy and Wimbleball and on the rivers Barle and Exe as well as sea fishing on the north Exmoor coast, Minehead and Blue Anchor Bay.
